Secrets and lies force their way to the surface in Nesly Clerge’s newest novel of deception, crime, and buried history. Frederick Starks thought he’d already lost as much as one man could: A beautiful family, the luxurious life wealth provides, success, admiration—all stripped from him in one moment of madness that resulted in a fifteen-year sentence in a maximum security prison. Certain that life has gotten as bad as it can get, Starks contrives a way to rise to the top of the inmate hierarchy. But his assumption is wrong. Amid stunning revelations, betrayals, and violence, Starks faces one challenge after another, until a life-altering event forces him into the most brutal confrontation of all: the truth about himself.
Lust, deception, betrayal, and their inevitable outcomes weave a web nearly impossible to escape in Nesly Clerge’s latest novel. Chelsea Hall is certain her husband is cheating. Again. How far will a wife go when her adulterous husband pushes her to the edge? Some stop at the cliff’s edge. Others leap into the abyss. Garrett Hall wants what and who he wants. His detachment from their relationship leads Chelsea to seek what she needs elsewhere, and onto a path that leads to bliss. What begins as a dream-come-true soon becomes a nightmare when the line between who is innocent and who is guilty soon blurs. Until the horrifying truth becomes clear. And, the question becomes, Who will survive?
The year is 2050. The Order of World Society governs the globe, the weather, the currency, and all facets of people's lives. The Peace for All Agenda is anything but peaceful. Scientist Gayle Conyers' life in this new societal structure is orderly, routine, focused, safe. Then it isn't. A renowned scientist forces her to work on a secret project that goes against her ethics and the Order. A protester warns her about the Order's web of deception and the approaching end of days. Gayle soon finds herself with a foot in two worlds: A scientific realm that intends to alter humanity for all time, and a spiritual one, where she's enmeshed in stories of prophecy, destruction, and the Apocalypse. Gayle remains skeptical. Until the event that stuns the world, one that causes her to face the realization that this may, indeed, be the beginning of the end.

APPEAL DENIED— two words that tell Frederick Starks his fate is sealed in this godforsaken prison. His estranged wife, whom he loves and hates, depending on the day, is dying. His family is in trouble. They need him—NOW—and he’s all but useless to them. His attorney isn’t giving up, but Starks is. Despite his despair, he has two scores to settle, with the inmate who killed his son and the one who killed his friend. Starks soon realizes his situation is worse than he imagined. Betrayals are rampant and gut-wrenching. But it gets worse. A war is brewing among inmates, and a deadly conspiracy is revealed. Starks acts based on the belief that he knows who’s behind it. He’s wrong. He believes he knows who to trust. He’s wrong about that, as well—mistakes he pays for in ways that are unfathomable. As threats against him escalate, his attorney announces the judge who denied his appeal is dead. Is there a chance he’ll get out, or is he destined to spend the rest of his life in misery? Regardless of the outcome, Starks is determined to avenge friends and loved ones. Yet, he wonders if exacting revenge will cost him more than he can afford, and if it will mean the end of any hope of redemption?

Frederick Starks has it all—a gorgeous wife who was his high school sweetheart, three beautiful children, a mansion and cars others envy, millions in the bank, respected in his community, admired by his employees, loved and respected by loyal friends. He revels in the hard-earned power and control he’s acquired. As the saying goes, “All that glitters is not gold,” which Starks discovers when gut-wrenching betrayal by his wife sends him over the edge and into a maximum security prison. There, Starks is a new “fish,” stripped of nearly everything he’s always relied on. In that place, where inmates and guards have their own rules and codes of conduct, Starks is forced to face the darker side of life, and his own darker side, especially when the betrayals, both inside and outside the prison, don’t stop. He must choose which path to follow when the line between right and wrong becomes blurred: one that leads to getting out of the physical and emotional hellhole he finds himself in or one that keeps him alive.
